Gardiner Chess has been very pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor Zac in his chess. He showed great promise when we first saw him taking part in an interschools comp in 2005. Since then he has been coached by Women’s International Master Alexandra Jule, and taken part in our Junior Masters competition each term. He has also taken part in some after school chess which includes rapid chess.

About Gardiner Chess

Students arrive at the centre soon after school finishes, from Tuesday to Friday. They receive a mix of coaching, puzzles and tournament chess, the results of which are sent away to the ratings officer for official rating. On Mondays we have a special session, along the same lines as on other days, but only for the girls - they like to learn their skills in chess away from the boys.
